Creative Crown foam crown molding.  What is our crown molding it made of ?

 *Other companies*
The first thing you normally think of is ice chest cooler foam.
This is true when you see the word "EPS" Styrofoam. This means "expanded polystyrene"
It is made like microwave popcorn in a bag!  It has open cells in it.  About  50 cells in the area
of a postage stamp. It is soft and impossible to paint without a special coating applied first.

Creative Crown foam crown molding is completely different.
Our moldings are know as "XPS"Extruded Polystyrene Styrofoam.
It is not expanded. It is pressed through a die which produces a higher density material
and keeps the cells closed. It has 800 to 900 cells per area of a postage stamp.
This makes it easy to get a good smooth painted finish.

The white foam is EPS and the light blue is Creative Crown molding XPS foam.
Look at the textures!

Is it soft ?
It mounts high at ceiling level, out of contact from chairs, vacuums etc.
It can be dented.  It can also be repaired very easily.  Just take painters caulk and put on
damaged spot and wipe off with a flat surface like a credit card.
